Okowa commends Nwaoboshi, urges public officers to deliver effective service

Admin December 18, 2016

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has urged political office holders to focus on effective, accountable and result oriented service delivery.

Speaking Saturday at the150 million naira Endowment Fund for Youth Development and Empowerment Programme by  the Senator Representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi in Asaba,

Governor Okowa said that political office holders should  focus more on ensuring that they deliver  on their promises to their constituents and desist from identifying with praise singers if they must make positive impact on their people, observing that the electorates were vested with the responsibility of telling their leaders the truth at all times.

The governor said politicians should always identify and interact with their people instead of staying away from them, pointing out that conscious steps must be taken by political office holders in putting smiles on the faces of their constituents especially in the yuletide.

Senator Okowa thanked the people of Delta North Senatorial District for their tenacity and doggedness in their support for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and promised to always carry Deltans along in the governance of the state.

He commended Senator Nwaoboshi for the empowerment programme, and urged the beneficiaries to put them into judicious use as well as intensify their support and prayers for the Federal lawmaker and the present administration.

Senator Nwaoboshi in his address pledged to partner with Governor Okowa in building a transformed state, anchored on prosperity, security and human capital development, pointing out that the empowerment programme was targeted at giving back to the society and empowering his constituents.

Items presented were Tricycles, Motorcycles, Cassava Processing and Grinding Machines, Sewing machines, Generating Sets, bags of rice, cash gifts well as a fifty million naira education endowment funds.
