Our father was a ‘Humble Mountain!’, says Mohammed Ali’s daughter

muhammad ali and familyMuhammad Ali may mean several things to different people including being ‘the greatest’ but to his children, he wasn’t just “the greatest.” The boxing legend was also a teacher, a hero and a “humble mountain,” according to a series of emotional social media posts published just hours after his family announced his death at 74.

“The Greatest Man that ever lived. Daddy my best friend and my Hero,” daughter Rasheda Ali tweeted. “You R no longer suffering & now in a better place.”  Daughter Hana Ali tweeted, “Our father was a ‘Humble Mountain!’ And now he has gone home to God.

“God bless you daddy. YOU ARE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!”

And in a lengthy Instagram post, son Asaad Ali wrote that Muhammad “taught me so much the last 25 years … that will forever be imprinted on my soul.”

“I’m able to sit here and [write] this post without falling apart because I honestly know you are in a greater place,” Asaad continued.

Shortly before his death, daughter Laila Ali shared a heartwarming shot of her father snuggling with her daughter, Sydney.

“I love this photo of my father and my daughter Sydney when she was a baby,” she wrote. “Thanks for all the love and well wishes. I feel your love and appreciate it!!”

Muhammad’s death has triggered a worldwide outpouring of tributes, grief and love from fans and public figures alike, including both the Clinton and Obama families.

Muhammad’s family said he will be laid to rest following a funeral in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
