The Oyo State Government has released N8.8 billion for the immediate payment of local government workers’ salary in the state.
The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Bimbo Kolade, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan.
Kolade said the money was disbursed to all local governments in the state for immediate payment of between two and three months salaries of workers.
He reiterated government’s commitment toward the improvement of workers’ welfare in the state and enjoined them to celebrate the festival with modesty and fear of God.
