A Police Inspector, Mohammed Bulama, attached to Police Mobile Force (PMF) 41 in Yobe State has been arrested after killing a 39-year-old civilian, Abdulmalik Dauda, in Damaturu, the state capital.

Channels Television reports that, Bulama was involved in a bitter argument with his victim over “uncleared transactions” at the Zango area in Damaturu. He was said to have stabbed his victim in the chest.

The incident occurred on September 29, 2024, according to a police spokesperson in the state, Dungus Abdulkarim, who in a statement, said the suspect has been arrested while investigations into the homicide case have commenced.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has ordered the immediate investigation into the homicide incident involving Inspector Mohammed Bulama, attached to Police Mobile Force PMF 41 Division Damaturu,” he said.

The spokesperson explained that Bulama has been taken to police custody pending internal disciplinary action and prosecution.

CP Garba Ahmed, who condemned Bulama’s actions, expressed condolences to Dauda’s family and assured the public that justice would dispensed.
