The Police Command in Kano State has launched an investigation into an alleged brutal attack on the household of one Haruna Bashir at Dorayi Charanchi Quarters, which resulted in the deaths of Fatima Abubakar, 35, and her six children.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the command received a distress call at approximately 12:10pm on Saturday, reporting the attack.

Kiyawa said that the victims were reportedly attacked with dangerous weapons by unknown hoodlums who broke into their house.

He added, “The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, immediately mobilised a police team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations, DCP Lawal Isah-Mani, to the scene.

“The bodies were evacuated and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where they were pronounced dead.

“A team led by ACP Wada Jarma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), had been instructed to conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The police command extends condolences to the family, the people of Dorayi Chiranchi and Kano State.”
