Police Nab Pastor for Allegedly Burying Charms in Church

Admin December 29, 2015

IGP Solomon AraseThe police in Benin have arrested one Apostle Ikenna Okafor for allegedly burying charm on his church premises in Benin.

Police source told our Correspondent that the identity of what the suspect buried is unknown even though residents around the church located along Esigie Street in Benin alleged it was a live animal.

The police took the suspect away for fear he might be lynched by angry residents who stormed the church.

A witness, Mr Chinedu Nnamdi, said his father woke him up around 2am on Saturday night to watch what the Pastor was doing.

According to him, the pastor buried something in front of the church and later performed a little ritual by walking round the church several times.

Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Edo Police Command, DSP Osifo Abiodun, said the suspect was under investigation.

The spokesman explained that the suspect had made useful statements that will assist the police in their investigation.
