Detectives of the Nigeria police in Delta are trying to unravel the motive of a prophet who killed his wife, a prophetess, and later committed suicide.

The General Overseer, Ancient of Days Healing Ministry, Umunede , Ika North LGA, Delta State, popularly called Prophet Chikordi, was  said to have killed his wife, a prophetess.

The death of his wife threw the community into panic and fearing for his fate, the prophet absconded to his hometown, Ekwuoma, a nearby community in the same Ika North and committed suicide by jumping into a well.

Detectives have been combing through the two communities and inquiring among friends, family members and associate of the dead couple to glean a shred of reason why the prophet killed his wife.
