Restrictions on social, religious gatherings remain in place – Buhari

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the restrictions on social and religious gatherings remain in place.

The President stated this on Monday during a nationwide broadcast.

The President also noted that the lockdown in the FCT, Lagos and Ogun States shall remain in place until the new one comes into effect on Saturday, 2nd May 2020 beginning from 9am.

He however added that the government will strictly ensure the mandatory use of face masks or coverings in public in addition to maintaining physical distancing and personal hygiene.

He enjoined State Governments, corporate organisations and philanthropists to support the production of cloth masks for citizens.

“State Governors may choose to amend adapt and expand based on their unique circumstances provided they maintain alignment with the guidelines issued on public health and hygiene”.
