Return of Nigerian citizens: Foreign Affairs ministry has instructed that financial implications be borne by prospective evacuees – NIDCOM

following the requests by some Nigerians stranded abroad in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic to be evacuated, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed that financial implications will be borne by the prospective evacuees.

Abike dabiri disclosed this in a statement the Head, Media and Public Relations Unit, NIDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

According to her, the returnees will be compulsorily quarantined on arrival into the country.

She added that Foreign Affairs ministry has directed all its missions abroad to compile lists of willing nationals who wanted to come back home.

“The interested Nigerians are advised to inform the missions in the various countries they are in, who will then collate and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She urged Nigerians stranded abroad willing to return home to key into the Federal Government gesture by providing their information to the mission in their respective host countries, noting that while embassies in several countries are also on lock down, those interested could also go online and fill a form provided on the commission’s website.
