Recently, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced the dismissal of 29 senior officials for offences ranging from bribery to forgery of certificates and gross misconduct. Their sack was part of the reforms being carried out by Comptroller-General, Hameed Ali, a retired colonel who on assumption of office warned that he was there to do the will of President Muhammadu Buhari, which he said was to reform the Customs, rid it of corruption, modernize its operations and generate more revenue.
