Senate Adjourns for PDP Congress, Resumes May 12
The Nigerian Senate Thursday abruptly shut down and adjourned for a week to enable Senators from the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to attend their party’s National Congress.
The adjournment was sudden and came shortly after the commencement of legislative activities to the shock of reporters. Many PDP Senators were not present in plenary.
The Senate will now resume plenary on May 12.
