Senate confirms Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as INEC Chairman

The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Professor Mahmood Yakubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The confirmation was given on Tuesday during plenary in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari had last month written to the Senate seeking approval for the confirmation of Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu as the Chairman of INEC.
