South Africa’s National Treasury Director-General, Dondo Mogajane

South Africa’s National Treasury Director-General, Dondo Mogajane, said on Tuesday that the country was willing to consider selling a stake in the airliner to a private equity partner.

Mogajane told parliament in Cape Town that the aim was to generate about five billion rand ($399 million) required by the airline to stay afloat.

He said that private equity partner was being considered because the cash injection could not come from government which had so far pumped 20 billion rand into the firm.
