Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, has urged for massive support for the Super Eagles during their return leg match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs.

Kola Daniel, the minister’s Special Assistant on Media, told newsmen in Abuja on Thursday that Dare was hopeful that FCT residents would turn out massively to support the team on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles face the Black Stars on Friday in Kumasi in the fixture’s opening leg and host the Ghanaians Tuesday in Abuja.

Daniel said the FCT Minister has already allocated 100 buses to convey spectators from every part of Abuja to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday for the return match.

“A committee on logistics has been put in place to ensure the security of supporters.

“The logistics committee led by Shehu Dikko, the Second Vice-President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been working on a daily basis to ensure the safety of Fans.

“But we are sure it is going to be a hitch-free match, and measures have been put in place for everyone who come to the stadium will go back home successfully,” he said.

Daniel said the buses would move from every part of Abuja to transport supporters to the stadium and back home.

“Everyone interested should locate any place convenient to him or her. The locations are Dutse, Suleja, Kubwa, Nyanya, among others,” he said.

The minister’s aide also assured that the ministry was working on the installation of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) facilities at the stadium.

“They will be ready before the match on Tuesday. Work is ongoing on this.

“VAR is part of the requirements put in place by FIFA for the match, and on Tuesday the VAR will be working perfectly,” he said.(NAN)
