As predicted by Political Economist, the All Progressives Congress, APC, left no joy for the opposition as it bullishly swept into victory in the Saturday local government, local council and councillorship polls.

From Badagry, Epe, Agege, Oshodi-Isolo, Ejigbo, Ojokoro, Somolu, Agboyi-Ketu, Ikorodu and other LCDAs and LGAs, the APC trounced the opposition by wide margins to clinch victory at wards, LCDAs and LGAs. Lagos has 20 local government areas and 37 LCDAs (Local Council Development Areas).

In Epe LGA, the returning officer, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission(LASIEC), Mr Shamsideen Ladega, declared Ms Surah Animashaun of All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the chairmanship election. Surah is the daughter of Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun of Epeland.

According to Ladega, the winner scored 11,232 votes to floor the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidate who scored 896 votes.

The incumbent Chairman, Ojo Local Government, Mr Rosulu Idowu, was re-elected with 9,111 to defeat Oniyide Olajide of the PDP, who got 1,526 votes

The incumbent Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Alabi David, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was re-elected after polling 22,002 votes to beat his closest rival, Mr Ibrahim Tijani, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 1,261 votes.

Also, the Returning Officer/Collation, Mr Olayiwola Salako, declared Banjoko Adetutu (APC), Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Government Development Area (LCDA),  winner having scored highest votes of 2,814 to beat the  People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate  who had 478 votes, Youth Party (YP) nine (9) votes.

The results is the same across wards, LCDAs and LGAs with APC winning by very wide margins.

APC members who spoke to our reporters attributed the landslide victory to the good work being done by Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu and all the LG and LCDA chair persons in the state.
