A section of the Supreme Court has been gutted by fire.

Speaking in Monday in an interview with Arise News, the Public Relations Officer of the Court, Mr. Festus Akande disclosed that the fire affected just a chamber of the court.

He refuted reports that the court was under attack by hood looms, stating that the cause of the fire was electrical fault.

According to him, “the staff was able to douse the fire before the fire service even came. the fire started at about 7: 30am and there were fire extinguishers available”.

It wasn’t serious so there was no need evacuating anyone.

He added further that there was no single connection between the fire and the PEPT. “It will not affect the workings of the court”.

“Only books, stationery and computers were affected. It will not give us any setback”, he said.
