Towards effective teaching: LASG distributes mobile electronic devices to teachers

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), has distributed mobile devices to teachers across the state’s six education districts.

According to the State government in a statement on Friday, the Permanent Secretary of TESCOM, Princess Adebopo-Ismail Oyekan, on behalf of the Chairman, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, stated that the initiative is aimed at enhancing teaching efficiency and promoting digital learning in the state.

She emphasised that the use of the devices will improve instructional delivery, accelerate service efficiency, and empower teachers to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) for more effective classroom engagement.

According to her, integrating technology into teaching will make lessons more interactive, accessible, and aligned with 21st-century educational standards.

They will also help teachers learn, unlearn, and relearn, enabling continuous professional development in the evolving digital education landscape.

Electronic devices provide access to vast amounts of information, enable personalised and flexible learning, foster teacher-student engagement, promote collaboration, and build essential digital literacy skills for a technology-driven world.

Permanent Secretaries/Tutor-Generals from the education districts, at the short ceremony, expressed their gratitude to the Lagos State Government and TESCOM for this innovative move, describing it as a significant step toward transforming education and promoting technology-driven teaching in Lagos State.
