Troops of Joint Task Force, ‘Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF-OPEO)” have rescued a kidnap victim, recovering the ransom paid by the family during a coordinated operation in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Capt. Polycarp Oteh, Media Officer for Operation JTF-OPEO, the victim who was abducted from the Bauna community of Shendam LGA on April 19 was successfully rescued on over the weekend.
“The victim has been reunited with her family after a thorough medical checks. The N8 million ransom was handed over to the family,” he said.
Oteh noted that troops are currently conducting operations on the kidnappers hideout within Qua’an Pan and Shendam LGAs to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate.
