A Jos Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday sentenced two students, Kalifah Salisu and Auwal Nuru, both 19 years old, to eight months each in correctional centre for conspiracy and possession of daggers.

The convicts pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy and possession of weapons brought against them by the police.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Hannatu Ashom sentenced the convicts to three months each in prison for conspiracy with a fine option of N100,000 each and another N30,000 fine or five months in prison for possession of weapons.

While reviewing the facts, the Prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on May 4, at the Nasarawa Gwong Police Station by one Kabiru Sani, a member of a vigilante group.

Gokwat said the convicts were arrested during routine patrols as they were found with daggers.

He said the offences contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.(NAN)
