UBE Chair Urges Teachers to Be More Diligent, As Public Primary Schools Resume For 2019 Academic Session

In line with the directive of the Lagos State Government on the resumption of schools in the State, all Public Primary Schools resumed for the 2019 Academic Session on Monday, January 7.

Monitoring the exercise, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education, UBE, Board Executive Chairman, Dr. Ganiyu Oluremi Sopeyin enjoined public primary school teachers to endeavour to put in more efforts in their schedule of duties, adding that they should be diligent at work because it is one of the essential services to humanity.

Dr. Sopeyin observed that being a teacher comes with enormous responsibility in view of the increase in the number of pupils in the State Public Primary Schools due to an improved standard of education and facilities in the State Public Primary Schools.

He commended the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and the Deputy Governor,  Idiat Oluranti Adebule for their passion and leadership style which he said was the driving force behind the State Universal Education Board.

The Chairman declared that because of the high intake of pupils into the Public Primary Schools in Lagos, there is a need for the State Government to employ more teachers.
