Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa

Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has joined numerous Nigerians to felicitate with his successor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on his 61st birthday anniversary.

Uduaghan, a medical doctor like Okowa, prayed for God’s grace and wisdom to continue to be with Okowa as he navigates the ship of Delta State.

He wrote on his Facebook wall: “I join your family, our dear state and your well-wishers around the world in wishing you a happy birthday!

“This birthday is a different one especially as you and your family recover from the Covid-19 pandemic. It is also at a time you are leading the State in battling this coronavirus outbreak. It is truly a difficult time, for not just public office holders but also for the led.

“As I join the entire state in praying for you and your family, I ask God to use your recovery as a point of contact to all those battling the virus in Delta, Nigeria and the world. May God’s grace and wisdom continue to be with you as you navigate the ship of Delta State.”

The Director-General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Barrister (Mrs.) Joan Amaechi Mrakpor  also congratulated Okowa, describing him as a man who has won many battles. She wrote: “Today, we celebrate a remarkable leader, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Governor of Delta State, whose humility, wisdom and commitment has continued to inspire us, as leaders, associates and individuals.

“It remains a great privilege to be associated with you and your wonderful family, a family that honours God, for the Bible says that “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom”.

“Relying solely on the name of God, you have effortlessly won many battles in life. We pray that you and your family will continue to excel in God’s grace and attain greater heights in Jesus Name, Amen.”

Many other well-wishers described Okowa as Ekwueme – Promise Keeper – and wished him a successful ending as he leads to birth a stronger Delta.

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, in his tribute said Okowa has given a rewarding meaning to mentorship and leadership.

He said: “Ekwueme of our time! It’s the completion of one fruitful year and commencement of another. Through these years, you have carefully defined your path- touching lives in diverse ways. God bless your new age my boss. You have indeed given a rewarding meaning to mentorship and leadership.”
