Admin March 12, 2019

Unknown gunmen have abducted a Lebanese construction worker and killing his driver in Kano on Tuesday morning, a police official said.

The attack and abduction comes amid higher than usual security in the middle of an election season. Confirming the incident, Police said the expatriate engineer was abducted at about half past seven Tuesday morning, around Dangi roundabout by yet to be identified gunmen.

“A Lebanese attached to Triacta construction company was attacked,” said Haruna Abdullahi, a police spokesman.

The unidentified gunmen also shot one man, Alphonsus Ahmed, who died on his way to hospital, and another, Abdullahi Mohammed, was injured by a bullet, the spokesman said. He added that police were combing the area looking for the suspects, though the “identities of the victims have not been ascertained”.
