The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who reportedly collapsed and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa on Thursday afternoon has been confirmed dead.

He was said to have slumped around 1:30 pm in his office, and was rushed to the hospital’s emergency unit.

Barely an hour later, Senator Ewhrudjakpo was said to be responding to treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

However, moments later, doctors at the hospital confirmed him dead with prime suspicion being cardiac arrest.
