Victor Moses scores, Iwobi shines as Chelsea, Arsenal win in EPL

Admin October 16, 2016

Alex IwobiChelsea was in sparkling form when it eased out three points with a 3-0 win over defending champions Leicester City on Saturday and Nigeria’s Victor Moses was a delight as he scored one of the goals and troubled the Leicester defence all through the match.

Diego Costa with all his heady baggage opened scoring for the Blues before Eden Hazard rounded Kasper Schmeichel to make it 2-0.

Arsenal also put up a show-stopper display in the first half with flawless passes and mastery of one-touvh football to record their sixth consecutive league win, with a 3-2 win over Swansea at the Emirates. The Gunners held on for all three points, despite going one man down following Granit Xhaka’s red card. Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi, now a major part of Arsene Wenger’s first team, carried on from his five-star show at the World Cup qualifier against Zambia with his sleek dribbles and intelligent off-the-ball movement.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City struggled at home after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton . The Citizens missed two penalties, by Kevin de Bryune and Kun Aguero, and needed Nolito to spare their blushes.

Other matches showed Tottenham Hotspur play a dramatic  1-1 draw at West Brom, Bournemouth  battered slumping  Hull City 6-1 while Stoke City salvaged its home-game reputation beating Sunderland 2-0.
