I will restore Nigeria’s economy; APC is a failure – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a mega failure, charging Nigerians to vote out the APC in 2019. He said he will restore the dignity of Nigeria, human lives and the economy if he becomes the president of Nigeria.

Atiku said this at Ribadu Square, Yola, Adamawa state capital on Saturday during his well-attended declaration rally tagged Adamawa PDP mega rally.

The rally which attracted PDP chieftains was attended by politicians and their supporters. PDP faithful from across the country thronged the rally ground. Atiku is one of the many candidates vying for the Presidential ticket of the PDP.

Atiku said amid loud noises across the rally ground: “I want to plead with all of you (Nigerians), you know the Party that gave you good economy, security and improved infrastructure in 16 years. That party is Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“My fellow brothers and sisters from Adamawa State, it is time we take back our state, Adamawa State and that time is almost here you can see the mammoth crowd in Adamawa today.

This shows that our party, the PDP, is the only party of choice in Nigeria. In the coming weeks, there shall be political tsunami in Nigeria, many people are warming up to return to our party as you are already aware, the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC has failed in all ramifications.

Atiku listed areas of failure of the APC to include provision of security, mismanagement of the economy etc. He said the Buhari government was not sincere with anti-corruption war as officials of the government are swimming in corruption.

He hinted that many former members of the PDP and members of the other parties including the APC would be joining the PDP in the coming weeks.

Atiku said that Adamawa was a PDP state and he would do all things possible to bring back the party to power in 2019.

Atiku who formally declared his intention to vie for the presidential seat under PDP said he was overwhelmed by the mammoth crowd that graced the occasion confirming the popularity of PDP in the state.

He criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing Nigeria in areas of economy, security and job security, adding that he would address the the problem when elected president.

The National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus described Atiku as a leading presidential aspirant in the party that has the capacity to dislodge APC in 2019.

“PDP is a tsunami that will soon wipe out APC. We are not afraid, we are strong and coming like train to crush APC,” Secondus said.

Secondus assured all presidential aspirants level playing field and tasked APC on ensuring level playing field for all parties in 2019 general elections.

Without mentioning names, Secondus announced the defection of some commissioners, House of Assembly members and council chairmen from APC to PDP.

Speaking on behalf PDP senators, Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce said Atiku has what it takes to make a difference 2019.

Representatives of Atiku supporters in  North East, North Central, South South and South East who spoke at the occasion also endorsed Atiku for 2019 election.
