Kwara State Gov. flags off exercise Still Waters III, charges traditional rulers to cooperate with Troops

The Governor of Kwara state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has charged traditional rulers in the state to cooperate with troops of Nigerian Army (NA) and other security agencies to eliminate all forms of crimes across the state.

The Governor made the call during the flag off ceremony of Ex STILL WATERS III, at Oro Ago community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state on 18 October 2023.

He maintained that traditional rulers are major stakeholders and must cooperate and support the NA and other security agencies towards achieving their constitutional responsibilities by providing timely information.

The Kwara state Governor, represented by the deputy Governor at the event, Mr Kayode Alabi expressed his profound happiness that Ex STILL WATERS III would be a veritable platform for the NA and other security agencies to further synergize and stamp out violent crimes, such as terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping among others.

Mallam Abdulrazaq appreciated the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for his visionary leadership style and strategic thinking for the conduct of Ex STILL WATERS III.

Also, speaking during the flagging off ceremony, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division NA, Major General Bamidele Alli Alabi stated that Ex STILL WATERS III is being conducted to create a safe, peaceful and secured environment during the yuletide. Which he said was inline with the command philosophy of the COAS.

Major General Alabi, stated that Ex STILL WATERS III is being conducted by troops of NA in synergy with other security agencies to tackle all forms of criminal activities.

He further solicited for the support and cooperation of citizens of the state, by timely passage of information to the troops and thanked the Governor for his continuous support to troops of 22 Armoured Brigade.

Present during the flag off ceremony were political and traditional rulers across the state, as well as the Commandant Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology, Major General SS Ibrahim, Commander 22 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General AA Babalola, Provost Nigerian Army College of Education, Brigadier General S Inuwa, heads of security agencies, among other senior officers and invited guests that graced the occasion.
