The Obi-Datti rally in Abuja on Saturday was a huge success but the real show-stoppers were Mr and Mrs. Desmond Adamson, the newly-wedded couple who joined the rally from their wedding service and in their wedding attires.

The couple showed much zeal as they smiled in excitement to the awe of the thousands of Obi-Datti Labour ticket supporters. Their presence in the crowd got many Nigerians emotionally joyous as they showed their joy with tearful emoji on social media.

A jubilant Mr. Adamson said it was a blessing that the rally for his hero, Peter Obi, coincided with his wedding.

“Knowing that today, which is my wedding, happens to also be the day for the Obidient movement, I told myself that after church, my partner and I will come straight to join the rally.”

He said he had been an admirer and ardent supporter of the Obi-Datti presidential ticket because they represent hope for a new Nigeria.

His wife, Mrs Adamson, who in spite of her high-heel shoes waded through the paths amid a buzzing crowd was no less enthusiastic: “We want to have kids in a country that is free from violence, insecurity, free from poverty, and hardship. That is why I said I must be here today to lend my support to the Obidient movement.”

Also among the show-stoppers was a 73-year-old woman who marched and ran with vigour, challenging both Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidates of the APC and PDP respectively who are in their 70s to dare do what she was doing – quick walk with the crowd.

Several other show stoppers include persons who shred food and drinks as their personal donations to support the Obi-Datti movement.

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi has hailed the newly-wedded couple.

In a video shared on his official Twitter handle, the couple could be seen in their wedding attire marching in support of Obi-Datti movement.

Obi who was in Kano with his running mate while the rally was happening in Abuja tweeted: “Salute and congratulations to this newly wedded couple in Abuja, whose special day coincided with the Obidient Family March in Abuja; and they marched too!” the presidential candidate tweeted.

“Wishing you both a blissful and happy married life and children, who will grow up in a united, secure, and productive Nigeria.”
