Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of Citadel Global Community Church, formerly Latter Rain Assembly, has warned Christians to beware of the Hushpuppi syndrome among pastors, stressing that there are many Hushpuppis in the pulpit who do credit alert by Angels.

Nigeria’s Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi, is a globally notorious conman who is standing trial in the United States for scamming individuals and corporates by compromising their Business Email and other hitech means to cream their money.

In a weekend sermon, the fiery preacher warned his congregation to run away from any success that does not involve labour.

In a veiled reference to Apostle Johnson Suleiman who recently in Nigeria and Atlanta, US, claimed to have commanded Angels to credit the accounts of members of the congregation, Bakare said such preaching is tantamount to the ways Hushpuppi scammed his victims.

“You are going to find out that short cut is not short in the long run. There are so many Hushpuppis on the pulpit. They do credit alert by Angels. They will end up the same way Hushpuppi has ended,” he said.

He recalled that even when God rained manna from heaven, labour was involved because the people had to gather and they operated by principles and rules.

He referenced the Bible teaching that God cares for the birds of the air, stressing that even the birds engage in labour as they had to fly out of their nests to fetch their food. He explained that God does not bring food to the birds in their nest.

He said the day God begins to credit people’s account, He (God) becomes a counterfeiter and the Angels become thieves because they have to steal the money from somewhere to credit the people.

He said anybody that preaches miracle money by Angelic credit alert is a liar from hell because God is not a counterfeiter nor His Angels thieves.
